Summary
The new European climate objective plans to reduce CO2 emissions by 20% as compared to 1990. This represents 12% more than required by the Kyoto Protocol, i.e. an 8% reduction until 2012. in order to reach this ambitious aim, renewable energies and energy efficiency of installations play a key role: an important argument for the refrigeration and air-conditioning industries, capable of generating several million-euro extra profits.
