Summary
The article deals with the development of synthetic lubricating oils adapted to hermetic compressors and R134a. Laboratory and mechanical tests are carried out. As the technical application problems of polyalkylenglycols have not been resolved in short term, the present development concerns almost completely polyolesters. Quality differences of ester-based fluids are demonstrated by the results of chemical-thermal stability tests and practice-related 2000 hour-life tests. For evaluation of the anti-wear additive response, the use of a modified four-ball friction tester is described.
