New protocols for primary cells and reliable results after freezing.
Number: pap. 017
Author(s) : STEEB L.
Summary
Primary cells like normal stromal cells, epithelial cells, endothelial cells as well as induced Pluripotent Stem cells (iPS) or other stem cells are common tools for nearly all scientists in all research fields, even physics or chemistry. As biomedical research is focusing more and more on standardized cell culture under defined conditions, micro-environmental factors are getting more relevant for your cell culture work. This presentation highlights some aspects, which are necessary for a desirable high standard in cell culture in common, as well as primary cell culture. Taking this into account we have to start from tissue acquisition to tissue dissociation and isolation, purification, all cell culture conditions up to freezing. Therefore, changes in the current procedures are vital. Hand in hand with that, new trend companies develop and offer many new solutions for going ahead with a higher standardization in cell culture work.
