New solar solid sorption refrigerator.

Summary

The goal of this work is to describe the R&D on solid sorption machines oriented towards design and testing of a new type of refrigerator and heat pump using physical adsorption. The concept of solar-powered refrigeration cycles have been analyzed and several machines operating on this principle are now commercially available. However, there has been little research into the integration of solar power with electricity, or natural gas. Such a system could remain operational when solar insolation is low, emitting its all-year-round operation and be used in areas where solar energy alone is impractical.
