Solar-gas solid sorption heat pump.

Summary

The goal of the work is to describe the R&D on solid sorption short cycles heat pumps (equal or less than 10 kW) using physical adsorption and interesting for the space and domestic applications (carbon fibre /ammonia). The system management consists only in actuating the special type valves to change the direction of the heating circuit and water valves to change the water cooling circuit. Designs of the condensers, evaporators and thermosiphons used to cool or heat the sorbent beds, are described. The first goal of the work is the experimental determination of the main heat pump parameters. The second goal of the work is the experimental analysis of thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the thermosiphons. The third goal is the experimental investigation of new type loop heat pipes used as cooling panels.
