Summary

European Regulations ban the use of virgin R22 in refrigeration installations as of January 2010. This article examines 2 alternative refrigerants for R22: R417A and R417B, giving their thermophysical properties and conditions to be complied with in order to retrofit a refrigeration installation for these new refrigerants.
