Summary

In this study, the flow characteristics and discharge pulsation of a twin tooth rotary compressor were identified and visually analysed, and new method of moving boundary simulation which avoids the arising of negative volume in the conventional method of dynamic meshes was used to improve the calculating speed evidently. The result showed that the pressure increase in transport process due to the internal leakage could reach 6kpa to13kPa, which caused the increasement of compressor's power consumption. In addition, compression of gas at volume units of different rotors was not synchronous, and the pressure difference reached about 20kPa before the connection of the volume units of different rotors, which led to great irreversible pressure loss in the following mixing process of gas.
