Numerical analysis and experimental validation of transcritical carbon dioxide cycles for small cooling capacities, hermetic and semi-hermetic CO2 reciprocating compressor comparison.

Author(s) : RIGOLA J., RAUSH G., PÉREZ-SEGARRA C. D., et al.

Summary

This work is a numerical and experimental comparative study of the whole refrigerating cycles in general, and the reciprocating compressors in particular, between an R-134a conventional refrigerating cycle and a carbon dioxide transcritical refrigerating system. The comparative cases presented have been specially designed for commercial refrigeration small cooling capacities. Different one-stage hermetic and semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor have been numerically modelled and experimentally validated.
