Summary

A numerical simulation for studying fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics in a square channels with rib turbulators are investigated in the present study. The square duct has a length 300 mm and height 30 mm square rib turbulators are attached in the bottom and top walls. The turbulator with different diameter have been used in the current study. To calculate the heat transfer, k-omega SST model and enhanced wall function are used. The numerical results have also checked with available Theoretical and Experimental relations and Good agreements has achieved. Compared to the case without turbulators. The installation of turbulators yields 5~10% augmentation in averaged efficiency values.
