Summary

In this paper, the optimum model which is to improve heat transfer in a rectangular channel was performed in respect of heat transfer efficiency and pressure drop. The velocity, temperature, and turbulent kinetic energy are presented by using numerical analysis. It was carried out by solving the governing equations for fluid flow and heat transfer using a finite volume method. Models of semi-circular column such as heat transfer accelerator on the wall were made 6 different sizes: rib pitch-to-height ratio(P/e)= 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. Effects of Installed heat transfer accelerator come to results of higher heat transfer enhancement. But, a high friction factor occurs. In this study, the P/e= 8 can be seen the best thermal performance among the six pitch ratio investigated.
