Summary

Qualification demands for storage and distribution of vegetables and fruits require excellent storage conditions. Nijssen Koeling delivered and installed a central refrigeration plant with the natural refrigerants NH3/CO2 that distinguishes itself by low energy consumption. A very low indirect emission of CO2 is further a result and the environment is lesser strained. Also by the lower energy consumption the cost of energy considerably reduces. The ammonia only circulates in the engine room whereas the CO2 circulates in the chill rooms and shipping areas. By this the safety of persons and products is guaranteed. There are energy saving components and controls built within the system, and heat recovery and defrosting air coolers. An optimal climate of the chill rooms is obtained by application of special designed air coolers.
