THE PAPER CONSIDERS ELECTRIC DRIVEN VAPOUR COMPRESSION HEAT PUMP EQUIPMENT UP TO 20 HP COMPRESSOR MOTOR RATING. IT EXAMINES CURRENT DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS AND GIVES THE METHODS CURRENTLY IN USE FOR DEFINING COEFFICIENT OF PERFORMANCE.
