Ontario hydro's experience with ground source and air source heat pump marketing programs.
Author(s) : KILLINS B. L., LEE R. B.
Summary
A marketing program, which included cash incentives, a subsidized loan plan, and promotional efforts in Ontario, Canada, is described. Over 11,000 new and existing houses installed heat pumps during the program, resulting in significant savings to homeowners. During this period, sales of the ground source heat pumps increased in Ontario by over 200%, while air source heat pump sales declined, partly due to increasing electricity costs and other factors.
