Operating experiences with commercial ground source heat pumps. 1.

Summary

There are many ground-source heat pump (GSHP) installations in commercial and institutional buildings in the United States and Canada, but little information is available about their merits, design details, ground heat exchanger design and sizing, integration with traditional building systems, and performance. ASHRAE RP-863 is gathering, analyzing and documenting information on such installations that should be useful for consulting engineers who wish to consider GSHP systems for their clients.
