Type of article: Article

Summary

Forced-air cooling of highbush blueberries packaged in 6-oz or 1-pt clamshell containers, with 4 patterns of air vents on the corrugated cardboard flats holding the containers, was studied in a 0 °C cold room. Cooling rates were affected by the positions of the vent holes in the flats. Optimized design is described.
