Summary

THE TECHNICAL RESEARCH CENTRE OF FINLAND HAS CARRIED OUT A SURVEY ON PACKAGING OF DEEP FROZEN FOODSTUFFS. ALUMINIUM FOIL LAMINATED CONTAINERS WERE FOUND TO BE BEST AT PREVENTING OXYGEN AND WATER VAPOUR PENETRATION. TEMPERATURES CAN BE MAINTAINED AT BETWEEN 4-6 K LOWER INSIDE THESE CONTAINERS. VACUUM PACKAGING, HOWEVER, IS REQUIRED FOR GREASY PRODUCTS. FOUR TABLES ILLUSTRATING THE SURVEY FINDINGS ARE INCLUDED. (INT. PACKAG. ABSTR., GB., 4, N.3, 1984/03, 253, 762.
