Summary

The kinetics of stress relaxation near the yield point of pure crystals cadmium-tellurium is studied at 200-300 K. The thermoactivation analysis of the results is made assuming that: 1) the dislocation motion during plastic deformation is impeded by the Peierls barriers and by thermally unsurmountable barriers forming effective internal stresses; 2) the limit of effective stresses low as compared to the Peierls ones is realized. Experimental results agree well with the model accepted, and empirical values of the pair kink energy, Peierls stress, linear density of the proper dislocation energy, internal stresses, the superjod spacings at screw dislocations acting as thermal barriers are found.
