Summary
The dehumidification performance of an absorption bed using silica gel is experimentally investigated in this paper. A mathematical model is then established and well validated by the experimental results. The model can be utilized to optimize the system performance. Two regeneration modes are compared, the natural convective method shows better dehumidification performance than the forced flow convective method, since the forced-flow air stream carries away more heat from the bed although the heat and mass transfer coefficient enhanced in the forced flow condition.
