Performance investigation of regularly structured composite latent heat storages.

Number: pap. ID: 276

Author(s) : LOHSE E., RÜCKERT J. P., SCHMITZ G.

Summary

This paper describes methods to assess and compare different latent heat storages. The utilization of the high latent heat of fusion in large amounts of phase change materials is restricted by the low thermal conductivity. It is improved by the combination with frames made of materials with high thermal conductivity to ensure a homogeneous temperature distribution. Various aluminum frame-structures can be manufactured by selective laser sintering. This paper shows methods to assess the performance of differently structured latent heat storages used as cooling system for electronic components.
