Summary

A FIRST STUDY CONCERNED A SINGLE STAGE MACHINE WHOSE COP IS DETERMINED BY USING A SIMULATION PROGRAM BASED ON MASS AND ENERGY BALANCES OF EACH COMPONENT ; THE OPTIMAL COP IS OBTAINED FOR RATHER HIGH TEMPERATURES OF THE BOILER: 393 K (120 DEG C). A TWO-STAGE MACHINE WAS THEN STUDIED AND THE OPTIMAL COP WAS OBTAINED FOR A TEMPERATURE OF THE BOILER EQUAL TO 343 K (70 DEG C), OBTAINED BY USING SIMPLE FLAT-PLATE SOLAR CLER. FINALLY, A COLD STORAGE SYSTEM WITH PHASE CHANGE CAN BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE MACHINE. J.L.
