Photovoltaic air conditioning: an environmentally friendly option.
Author(s) : DHAWAN K. K., PRASAD M.
Summary
In the present work a complex search algorithm is used to minimize the photo-voltaic array size by its optimum arrangement and tilt angle to get maximum power output from it for known characteristics and cooling load. The adoption of photo-voltaic array eliminates the radiation energy due to covered roof, rendering reduced power for refrigeration. Thus, photo-voltaic array plays double role, i.e., the reduced refrigeration load and the elimination of release of CO2, the global warming gas.
