Design, realization, tests and comparative analysis of low electric consumption photovoltaic cooling systems.

Author(s) : MICHEL E., BONNEFOI F.

Summary

The aim of the project is to identify low electric consumption cooling systems that are suitable for photovoltaic systems and for application in developing countries. Two different systems were investigated: evaporative air-cooler and buried pipe system, in which photovoltaic energy is used only to drive low-energy fans. The performances of these systems are presented. The innovative aspects of the systems are: low-consumption motor for fans; fan that is suitable for various systems; range of devices designed to provide the cooling power necessary for premises ranging from an office to a small shop; cooling "along with the sun".
