DESCRIPTION OF A TOTAL ENERGY SYSTEM EMPLOYING A GAS ENGINE DRIVEN HEAT PUMP FOR SUPPLYING HOT WATER TO A BUILDING HOUSING A SAUNA, BATHROOMS, RESTAURANT AND OTHER SOCIAL FACILITIES. DATA RECORDED DURING TEST RUNS HAVE SHOWN THAT THIS SYSTEM PROVIDES CONSIDERABLE ECONOMIES IN ENERGY CONSUMPTION AS COMPARED TO CONVENTIONAL WATER HEATING SYSTEMS. CERTAIN PRECAUTIONS THAT NEED TO BE TAKEN WHEN DESIGNING AND CONSTRUCTING SUCH A SYSTEM ARE OUTLINED.
