Summary

An algorithm to predict outdoor air temperature (OAT) along the transportation line is proposed in the paper. The algorithm is consisted of the prediction of temperature in a certain city and that along the transportation line. Oblivion function algorithm is used to improve the shape factor method for the prediction of OAT in a given city, based on the historical and weather forecast data of the city. It is shown that the algorithm possesses a reasonable accuracy by comparing the predicted temperatures and measured ones. Based on the prediction algorithm, a map-based OAT prediction algorithm for OAT along the transportation lines is set up by the location, schedule and the predicted temperature of every city along the transportation line. Examples are provided to illustrate how to predict the OAT along the transportation line.
