Prediction methods for turbulence-induced duct breakout noise.
Author(s) : MITCHELL A., FAIRBAIM K.
Summary
In many modern ventilation systems, situations arise where high air flow velocities are unavoidable. In these circumstances, flow generated noise becomes significant at locations where turbulence inducing duct elements such as attenuators, bends and dampers are present. This paper investigates methods for the prediction of flow generated noise in ducts and the resulting break-out noise, with a view to a software model.
