PREDICTION OF THE CONCENTRATION PROBABILITY DENSITY FUNCTION FOR EVAPORATING SPRAYS.

Author(s) : KERSTEIN A. R.

Type of article: Article

Summary

A MODEL OF AN EVAPORATING SPRAY IS PROPOSED IN WHICH EACH DROPLET DEPOSITS VAPOUR ALONG A LINEAR TRAJECTORY THROUGH A QUIESCENT HOST GAS. ASSUMING A RANDOM SPATIAL DISTRIBUTION OF TRAJECTORIES AND A GAUSSIAN RADIAL CONCENTRATION PROFILE ABOUT EACH TRAJECTORY, RELATIONSHIPS ARE DERIVED BETWEEN THE PROBABILITY DENSITY FUNCTION FOR CONCENTRATION AND PARAMETERS GOVERNING INDIVIDUAL-DROPLET PROCESSES.
