Summary
THE PROBLEMS OF STORAGE ARE RELATED TO THE HIGH SUSCEPTIBILITY OF PLUM AND PEACH TO CERTAIN PATHOGENS. IT IS NECESSARY TO LOOK INTO PREHARVEST TREATMENTS USING ACTIVE FUNGICIDES. THE POSTHARVEST DEFENCE IS MAINLY CLOSELY RELATED TO THE PREHARVEST ONE. ONE MUST AVOID HARVESTING DURING THE HOTTEST TIMES OF THE DAY. BY A NORMAL REFRIGERATION OF -5 to 0.5 DEG C, THE PEACH CAN BE PRESERVED FOR 20-30 DAYS. MASSIVE TREATMENTS WITH CO2 CAN BE APPLIED.
