Summary

AN EXTENSIVE RESEARCH PROGRAM HAS BEEN INITIATED BY ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE ENERGY SAVING BY AN EFFICIENT USE OF COMPRESSORS FOR HEAT PUMPS AND STEAM COMPRESSION. RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS, USING R114, HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED AND TESTED WITH A CONDENSING TEMPERATURE OF 393 K (120 DEG C). STEAM COMPRESSION TESTS HAVE TAKEN PLACE USING OIL-INJECTION FREE SINGLE SCREW, TWIN SCREW AND LOBE COMPRESSORS.
