Summary

SOME TECHNIQUES AND AN EMERGENCY PROCEDURE WERE ELABORATED IN ORDER TO REMOVE AMMONIA LEAKS FROM A COLD STORE. THE USE OF CO2 AND OF AIR CHANGE IN ORDER TO RESTORE THE NORMAL CONDITIONS OF USE AND THE PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE OF A LOCALISED LEAK ARE DESCRIBED. A GUIDE IS GIVEN TOO FOR THE SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENT OF AMMONIA CONCENTRATION.
