These proceedings contain 38 papers presented at this seminar, held in Paderborn, Germany, September 18-20, 1996. The seminar was organized by the Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer Section of the University-GH Paderborn (Wärme- und Kältetechnik) and co-sponsored by the IIR. Topics: influence of the heating wall and bubble formation; enhanced pool boiling heat transfer; convective effects in pool boiling; boiling of mixtures; boiling in an electric field and under microgravity; transient phenomena in boiling; film boiling. Most of the papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
