Promotion plans related to heat pump and thermal storage system in Japan.
Author(s) : IWATSUBO T.
Summary
The power consumption and mainly the peak of summer demand in which power for air conditioning accounts for 40% of total demand, increases. In addition, the difference between peak time and off-peak time tends to increase every year. This is partly caused by spread of non-thermal-storage individual decentralized type air-conditioners popularly adopted by medium and small-size buildings. The improvement of load factor by equalizing the power load is compatible with energy policies of Japan, and the thermal-storage type heat pump system and gas engine heat pump system were acknowledged as systems to be promoted.
