Summary

Hayward trees were harvested from March to June, and fruit quality was assessed immediately and after 20 days of cold storage plus 10 days at room temperature. Contents of soluble solids increased and flesh firmness decreased with delay in harvesting when fruits were assessed immediately after harvesting, but there was little difference among harvesting dates after cold storage. Sensory evaluation showed that flavour, sweetness, texture and juiciness improved with delay in harvesting.
