WITH INCREASING DEMANDS FOR IMPROVED QUALITY AND LOWER PRODUCTION COSTS IN THE PREPARATION OF FREEZE-DRIED PRODUCTS, INDUSTRY HAS HAD TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY OF EQUIPMENT. THE PRODUCTS INVOLVED, IN PARTICULAR, ARE PHARMACEUTICALS, COFFEE AND CERTAIN FOODSTUFFS. EMPHASIS IS LAID ON THE NEED FOR NEW TYPE FREEZE-DRIERS TO HANDLE APPLICATIONS IN THE RECENT DEVELOPMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY WHERE CONTINUOUS CLOSED-TYPE FREEZE-DRYING PLANT ARE NEEDED FOR LIQUID MATERIALS.
