Summary

A recent survey in the USA found that only 18% of refrigeration and air conditioning contractors were completely prepared to offer CFC substitute refrigerants and only 10% of their customers were completely ready for CFC phase-out. More contractors were willing to consider retrofitting plants with substitute refrigerants than to recover and reclaim CFCs. There seemed a general distrust of recovery plants. Also a disinclination to report a colleague seen venting a CFC to ambient. D.W.H.
