Summary
The shortened heat pretreatment period of 8-12 hours at 38 deg C was more effective than the originally recommended 18 hours in reducing chilling injury symptoms when the pulp was subsequently at a temperature higher than or equal to 2.2 deg C during 16 days of storage.
