THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES IN THE CURRENT PRACTICE OF USING REFRIGERATED SEA WATER FOR THE CHILLING OF FISH ON BOARD AUSTRALIAN FISHING VESSELS, RATHER THAN USING ICE, ARE DISCUSSED. THE VESSELS HAVE ONE OR TWO REFRIGERATED WATER TANKS. THE ADVANTAGES OF A THREE TANK SYSTEM ARE OUTLINED.
