Author(s) : REICHELT J.

Summary

A COMPARISON IS MADE OF COMPRESSOR UNITS FOR PASSENGER CARS PRODUCED IN USA AND JAPAN AND THE NUMERICAL DEVELOPMENT OFAIR CONDITIONED CARS IN FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY. IN 1955/1960 AND THEREAFTER, THE 2-CYLINDER COMPRESSOR WAS PREDOMINANT, LATER THE 4-, 5-AND 7-CYLINDER AND NOW ABOUT 50% ARE 10-CYLINDER COMPRESSORS. IN THE FUTURE, ROTARY COMPRESSORS, FOR EXAMPLE A SCROLL TYPE, WILL BECOME MORE SIGNIFICANT. IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE HOMOGENEITY IN THE RATING, SOME SUGGESTIONS ARE MADE FOR CONVENTIONAL AS WELL AS FOR COMPRESSORS WITH VARIABLE CAPACITY.
