Summary

ON BOARD TGV TRAINSETS, BOTH TRAILERS AND DRIVING-CABS ARE AIR CONDITIONED SEPARATELY THUS CREATING ACCEPTABLE CONDITIONS OF CONFORT, AIR CHANGE AND TEMPERATURE IN THE SPACE OCCUPIED BY PASSENGERS (TRAILERS) AND IN THE DRIVING-CABS. HEAT AND REFRIGERATION ARE CONVEYED BY AIR WHICH IS THEN DIFFUSED SO AS TO OBTAIN HOMOGENEOUS TEMPERATURE-LEVELS WITHIN THE SPACES CONCERNED. HEAT IS SUPPLIED THROUGH A PREHEATER AND COMPLEMENTARY HEATERS (APPLICATION OF JOULE'S LAW) AND REFRIGERATION IS PROVIDED BY A CONVENTIONAL REFRIGERATION EQUIPMENT (R22 IN THE TRAILERS AND R12 IN THE DRIVING-CABS). THE CONTROL SYSTEM ADJUSTS HEAT AND REFRIGERATION INPUTS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN AN ADEQUATE TEMPERATURE-LEVEL ON THE TRAIN.
