Refrigeration appliances using hydrocarbon refrigerants. Manual for the safe design, manufacturing, servicing and drop-in conversion of domestic and commercial appliances.
Author(s) : ECOFRIG
Type of monograph: Guide/Handbook
Summary
This manual is an updated and extended version of the "Manual for safe design and manufacturing of commercial refrigeration appliances using hydrocarbon", edition May 1997. It is planned to be updated and complemented on a regular basis to integrate suggestions received. Its aim is to show how domestic refrigerators and unitary commercial refrigeration appliances which use a hydrocarbon refrigerant should be: designed so they are safe, reliable and perform well; manufactured and serviced safely.Contents: hydrocarbon refrigerants; design of appliances for R600a and the hydrocarbon blend; safe handling of hydrocarbon refrigerants; manufacture of appliances for hydrocarbon refrigerant; servicing hydrocarbon refrigerant appliances; drop-in conversion of R12 or R134a appliances to the hydrocarbon blend.Appendixes: glossary of terms; technical data for hydrocarbon refrigerants; safety data for hydrocarbon refrigerants; standards and regulations for hydrocarbon refrigerants; IP-ratings for sealed components; suppliers of components and equipment.
