Summary
In Australia, a number of national standards are available to cover ammonia refrigerating systems. These include AS2022 on storing and transporting ammonia, AS1677 on refrigeration systems, AS1210 on pressure vessels, AS2430 on classification of hazardous areas and CB18 on pressure piping. The author reviews these and points out where some additional or re-written information would make better cover for modern use of ammonia systems. D.W.H.
