Renewables 2011 global status report.

Author(s) : REN21

Type of monograph: Report

Summary

The renewable energy sector continues to perform well despite continuing economic recession, incentive cuts, and low natural-gas prices. Renewable capacity now comprises about a quarter of total global power-generating capacity. Global solar PV production and markets more than doubled in comparison with 2009, thanks to government incentive programmes and the continued fall in PV module prices. The report provides an overview of renewable energy worldwide as of early 2011. It covers both current status and key trends.
Extract from the table of contents: selected indicators and top five countries; global market overview (power generation markets; heating and cooling markets; transport fuel markets); investment flows; industry trends; policy landscape; rural renewable energy.
