Summary

The practical case of retrofitting presented in the article can be used to compare the performances of these two refrigerants for the same refrigerating machine running at low evaporating temperatures. The results of measurements presented in the form of curves show that the refrigerating capacity and the COP remain practically unchanged. The compressor capacity is greater, while the discharge temperature falls. In the case of this installation, the choice of R404A to replace R22 is therefore quite warranted.
