Summary

The Spanish Mercadona chain plans to replace the refrigerants in its more than 200 supermarkets by more environmentally safe ones. The first retrofitting was done in Valencia, where the air-cooled condensing system had to be modified for 8 R12 compressors and 2 R502 ones. R12 was replaced by R409A, and R502 by R408A.
