Type of article: Article

Summary

The characteristics and applications of ice slurry are described. The concept of the equivalent specific heat of solid-liquid two-phase flow and the difficulty when it is used in ice slurry are discussed. The heat transfer performance, the rheology, flow patterns, the viscosity, and the pressure drop of ice slurry are reviewed. The phenomena of dividing layer resulted from the density difference of ice crystal and water in ice slurry flow in different flow velocities are analyzed. Finally, some further studies on ice slurry are suggested.
