Summary

The Strategy provides a guide to planning for, and managing, the phase-out of ozone-depleting gases, including CFCs, methyl chloroform and halons. A list of current recommendations of the strategy on ozone protection; commercial refrigeration/air-conditioning equipment (exemptions from manufacture/import ban); and essential uses under the Montreal Protocol for CFCs, carbon tetrachloride and methyl chloroform are given in the appendices.
