This paper explores the ongoing efforts by those who are anticipating the more widespread use of flammable refrigerants in HVAC equipment and appliances, with the principle focus on the use of hydrocarbons as refrigerants. It is hoped that this paper will initiate ? dialog among stakeholders, and increase the likelihood that the more widespread use of f1ammabIe refrigerants does not result in ? decline in safety.
