RISE IN THE TEMPERATURE OF SMALL HEAT PUMPS.

LES PETITES POMPES A CHALEUR PRENNENT DE LA TEMPERATURE.

Summary

THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS OBTAINED ON A SMALL HEAT PUMP EQUIPPED WITH A HERMETIC COMPRESSOR OF 2.6 KILOWATT AND CHARGED WITHA NEW REFRIGERANT: R142B WHICH IS SPECIALLY WELL-ADAPTED TO PRODUCE HEAT AT 363-368 K (90-95 DEG C). IT WAS TESTED BEFORE ON AN INDUSTRIAL HEAT PUMP EQUIPPED WITH AN OPEN-TYPE COMPRESSOR. EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS, CONDENSING TEMPERATURE: 363 K, EVAPORATING TEMPERATURE: 303 K (30 DEG C), WERE KEPT STABLE DURING TESTS. THE EXPERIMENTAL VALUE OF THE COP WAS FOUND TO BE 2.4. THIS VALUE IS APPROXIMATELY 40% OF THE VALUE OF THEORETICAL COP (CARNOT). THIS IS DUE TO THE BAD THERMAL INSULATION AND TO THE LOW EFFICIENCIES OF THE COMPRESSOR COMPARED TO THOSE OF OPEN TYPE COMPRESSORS. CHEMICAL AND ELECTRIC TESTS MADE GAVE GOOD RESULTS.
