Summary

THE PAPER CONSIDERS THE EVAPORATION PROCESS OF A TERNARY MIXTURE CONTAINING ONE NON-VOLATILE COMPONENT, BECAUSE MANY PRODUCTS CAN BE CONSIDERED AS A MIXTURE OF AN ORGANIC SUB-STANCE, WATER AND A NON-VOLATILE SUBSTANCE. FURTHERMORE, IT SHOWS HOW THE SELECTIVITY OF EVAPORATION CAN BE AFFECTED BY EVAPORATION CONDITIONS. SOME OF THE THEORETICAL RESULTS ARE PROVEN IN BENCH-SCALE EVAPORATION EXPERIMENTS CARRIED OUT WITH THE TERNARY LIQUID MIXTURE 2-PROPANOL-WATER-GLYCEROL.
