Summary
Due to the fluid properties of CO2, the pressure ratio of the refrigeration process is, compared to common refrigeration processes, rather low while the pressure difference is extremely high. This article evaluates the effects on the efficiency of the CO2 compressor and a promising design concept for an efficient CO2 compressor was derived with a view to minimizing its refrigeration capacity.
