SOLERAS SOLAR COOLING PROJECT.

Summary

THE SOLERAS PROGRAM IS MANAGING FOUR PROJECTS RELATING TO ACTIVE SOLAR COOLING. TWO SYSTEMS UTILIZING RANKINE ENGINES AND TWO UTILIZING ABSORPTION COOLING. BY MODIFYING SYSTEMS, THESE TESTS SHOULD HELP MAKE SOLAR COOLING ECONOMICALLY COMPETITIVE WITH CONVENTIONAL SYSTEMS. THE SYSTEMS WILL BE MONITORED FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS AND SYSTEM PERFORMANCE DATA WILL BE PUBLISHED. THE FIELD TESTS WILL BE MONITORED TO VERIFY ENGINEERING PREDICTIONS OF SYSTEM THERMAL PERFORMANCE, COST EFFECTIVENESS, RELIABILITY, MAINTAINABILITY, AND INSTALLATION EASE.
